Education has become a hot-button topic in America recently with the increased competitoin for college admissions and the decrease in funding in American public schools.
It’s not all doom and gloom, however. A recent Gallup poll indicated that for the first time since 2007, Americans are as likely to say that they are satisfied with the quality of their children’s education as they are to say they are dissatisfied.
While most parents can do little to control the quality of the instruction their children receive while in school, they can control the quality of their children’s supplemental education. Tutoring as little as one hour a week can be a great way to reinforce good teaching or help correct poor instruction received in school.
Tutoring can be a great way for students to gain confidence and remain comfortable in class, even when a concept is being taught in an ineffective manner. Knowing that a tutor will help break down the material and clear up any confusion can be a powerful stress reliever for any student.
